M.D. Anderson Cancer Center: May 5 & 9, 2008

As part of our public awareness program, Longhorn Pipeline representatives were invited to give a presentation to the youth patients at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, located in Houston, Texas. The Centers mission is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, education, research and prevention. Longhorn representatives provided general safety tips and a description of the products transported through the pipeline. In addition, we handed out goody bags which were filled with activity books, stickers, and 811 stick-on tatoos. The theme of the week for patient activities was golf, and a Longhorn engineer shared his secret golfing techniques with the children. As part of our Public Awareness Program, Longhorn Pipeline strives to enhance public safety and environmental protection through increased public awareness and knowledge. By sharing information with property owners, businesses, excavators, emergency responders, public officials and other interested parties, we aim to raise the awareness of our pipeline facilities and help the public better understand the role they can play in contributing to pipeline safety. Longhorn is committed to operating and maintaining its pipeline in a safe, environmentally sound manner. We have gone to great lengths to ensure the pipeline’s integrity, taking steps well beyond the requirements of law, regulation and industry standards to protect the people, communities and environment along our route. We enthusiastically accept our responsibility to ensure safe and reliable operation in the communities along our pipeline. Below is a summary of some of our programs being implemented in 2007:

2005 In October, the U.S. Supreme Court announces that it will not hear the case against Longhorn Pipeline. Longhorn makes final preparations to clean and commission the pipeline. Safe At Home School Program

Longhorn recently participated in an industry-wide program to design a pipeline safety program for children. By the fall of 2007, the Safe at Home educational program was created and began implementation in 5th grade classrooms in targeted schools throughout the Houston area. While still in its early stages, this program is expected to grow to reach all schools in Texas. This interactive, hands-on program challenges children to learn about safety in and around the home with respect to gas and liquid pipelines. It consists of a five-day program in which the children are encouraged to learn through a series of games, lessons and activities that reinforce the message of pipeline safety. The following quarterly status reports provide information about the status of mitigation commitment implementation, the character of interim developments as they relate to mitigation commitments, and the results of mitigation-related studies and analyses. The reports also summarize developments related to our operational reliability assessment. The reports are issued quarterly during the first two years of system operation and annually thereafter for the operational life of the pipeline system.
