Longhorn Pipeline Progresses Toward Increased Capacity

HOUSTON, TX - Houston-based Longhorn Partners Pipeline, L.P. announced in April, 2007, its plans to increase the pumping capacity of its pipeline which extends from Houston to El Paso. This will be accomplished through the construction of four additional pump stations along the pipeline, as well as equipment upgrades at pump stations currently in service. Two additional product loading lanes were added to the El Paso truck rack in 2007 and construction will be complete by midyear on 400,000 barrels of additional product storage at Longhorn's terminus. The project is in response to increased shipping demand and market conditions.

The expansion will increase the design capacity of the pipeline from 72,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 125,000 bpd with expected completion of the project in early 2009. The capacity increase is the next increment to reach the ultimate capacity of 225,000 bpd that was anticipated in the Environmental Assessment conducted prior to start up of the pipeline.
